Entertaining our friends from Paulton Bowling Club in a mixed friendly is always a delight and Sunday’s match was no exception.

The usual mixture of good bowling, entertaining company and excellent buffet to round it off just can’t be beaten. The close score made it even more interesting; what I would call a draw, with Keynsham edging it if you must have a winner.

This year however the fixture had that little extra something.

Two of our ladies were playing in a competitive match for the very first time and both acquitted themselves very well. We have two real bowlers in the making here, so well done Sue and well done Sue. No, that wasn’t a deliberate mistake; they’re both called Sue.

Bob too is in his first season on the green. This wasn't however his first match, in fact he's already sent down some very tidy woods for the "C" team. another one to watch for the future.

Possibly even more pleasing is having Dave & Margaret back enjoying their bowling again. Having had a run out at Chew Stoke the previous Sunday, this was their first appearance this season in a home match. It’s wonderful to see you both back on the green.
